The Criteria for meeting the requirements for a Level III dossier are stated in the Requirements and Guidelines Documents, which can be found at http://teachnm.org/uploads/docs/pdd-guidelines.pdf. The Criteria for Success for Strand B, Level III, state
“In order for your PDD to be evaluated as meeting Strand B competencies at Level III, Strand B must meet all of the Level II criteria and go beyond Level II criteria in the following ways:
- Samples of student work show growth in one or more specific concepts or skills within your discipline or content area.
- Your analysis provides an in-depth characterization of each student's learning and shows a clear relationship between the experiences encountered by the student and his/her learning.
- Your instruction and resources engage each student in reflecting on his/her own progress in light of learning goals and experiences.
- Students receive feedback from multiple sources and are helped to make decisions about what to do in response to that varied feedback.”
The candidate should carefully review the criteria for Level II and Level II to be sure that there is clear evidence with enough detail to demonstrate his or her meeting each of the criteria. This candidate should also review the podcasts available on the site for competencies 3 and 4, which will provide additional self-reflections for ensuring sufficient evidence.
The candidate might also ask another teacher with experience in the subject matter to review the dossier from the perspective of the podcasts for each of the strands, to help the candidate ensure that all questions have been answered fully.
